Core facts are verified to mid-2025. Major investments, ownership relationships, and model dependencies have been cross-checked. AI moves fast — some 2026 estimates (like valuations) are based on the most recent public information and may shift. When in doubt, company websites and SEC filings are the source of truth.

There are five line types: Gold solid lines = financial investment (money changing hands). Teal long-dashed lines = strategic partnerships. Gray dotted lines = alumni spinoffs (key people who left to found something new). Blue solid lines = ownership (company owns this product). Green short-dashed lines = AI powering a product. Click any line to get the full story behind it.

The map prioritizes the highest-impact nodes in each layer — companies that represent a distinct capability or relationship in the ecosystem. Some companies were excluded for being subsidiaries already represented by their parent, being too niche for a general audience, or because their AI story wasn't materially different from existing nodes. This is an evolving project and new nodes can always be added.

On mobile, use two fingers to pinch-zoom and one finger to pan. Tap any node to open its detail panel, which slides in from the right. Tap any connecting line for the relationship story. Use the filter buttons at the top to isolate specific layers of the ecosystem.

Nvidia makes the GPU chips that train and run ALL modern AI — without them, no modern AI exists at scale. Their H100 and H200 GPUs are essentially the oil wells of the AI economy. Nvidia has also strategically invested in or partnered with nearly every major AI company: OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, xAI, CoreWeave, Perplexity, HuggingFace, Cohere, and Mistral — making them the most connected node on the map.
